Exalted Ruler’s Message - March 2009
Dear Members,
It was indeed, a Very, Very Happy
Valentine's Day at Trenton Elks Lodge 105's recent
Dinner-Dance...not only for those who attended, but for the Lodge in
general! The hall was decorated beautifully! The food was great
thanks to Chef John Conte. Rick & Kenny had everybody out on the
dance floor all evening. The camaraderie amount Members, Guests and
Old Friends was exciting to see!
A special THANK YOU to Social
Committee Chairperson Doris Whitlock and her fantastic committee,
Judy Kelly, Barbara Hanusi, Nancy Jakubowski, and Pat Lawrence. And
THANKS to the guys for all their work, also...Tom Kelly, Jim
Lawrence, and Jim McMullen. And THANKS to all Our Friends, old and
new, for making it a wonderful evening. In all, there were 172 Happy
Valentines in attendance.
The result of the elections of
Trenton Lodge #105's Officers for Elks' Year 2009-2010 will be in
April's Bulletin.
Karen Manfré, our National Foundation
Chairman, is still looking for those of you who would like to
make a pledge to the Foundation. A contribution of $100 can be paid
at $10 a month for 10 months or in full, whichever you wish. She has
already reached the Grand Lodge per capita and is hoping to reach
the State Elks' per capita. Great going, Karen!
Every interested in this year's Elks'
Convention (June 4, 5, 6), please attend the Marching Club Meeting
(7:30PM, Thursday, March 12) to sign up. We have a nice new motel
where we will be staying just steps from the beach and boardwalk.
And think how proud you will be when you are Marching down Atlantic
Avenue and people on the sideline call out..."Go 105!"
Fraternally Yours,
Joan Laird
